America Week 2012 March 12-14, 2012 Venues at the American Corner Veszprem and the University of Pannonia
The Institute of English and American Studies of the University of Pannonia together with the American Corner Veszprem, Eotvos Karoly County Library as well as the English Committee of the Regional Branch of the Academy of Sciences in Veszprem since 2008 have organized the traditional America Week launched at the initiative of then guest Fulbright Professor, Dr. Scott Campbell (Nazareth College, Rochester, NY, USA).
The event is dedicated to the study of American culture and the strengthening of Hungarian-American ties.
Areas covered: diplomacy, history, civilization, arts, literature, linguistics, language policy, pedagogy, environment, politics, economics, philosophy and law, which explore and analyze American culture from a variety of perspectives.
Lecturers include both Hungarian and American university staff, Fulbright professors, experts.
The opening address of the widely known and most successful event is delivered by representatives of the American Embassy in Budapest, the University of Pannonia and Nazareth College. These events are free. The language of the talks is English.
