The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble (NYSJE) is an internationally renowned recording and touring group. Since the band’s inception in 1994, they have released Six studio and two live albums and they have performed regularly throughout Europe, UK, Russia, Canada, USA, Japan and South America.
NYSJE’s new studio album (Double Edge) is released this summer. The band puts on an incredible live show arriving now to Pécs as well.

Comparing Models of Childbirth: Birth from Two Perspectives – presentation by Danielle Taubman Saturday, April 30, 10 – 10.30 a.m. - Ifjúsági Ház (Nagy Lajos király útja 1.) The approach used in the medical model of childbirth on the one hand, and the midwifery model of childbirth and the Mother-Friendly Childbirth initiative on the other hand, are complementary rather than competitive. However, based on current evidence, using Mother-Friendly Childbirth greatly improves birth outcomes and women's experiences with childbirth.

A múlt század elején a nők álmodni sem mertek olyan szerepekről, amelyek ma már életünk részei, és amelyek vállalásához ma már nem kapcsolódik szégyen. Talán abban egyetértünk, hogy a női életutak változatosabbakká váltak, és az életformák közötti választás lehet...őségi is adottak. Legalább is így tűnik. Valóban választásról beszélhetünk, vagy mindennapjainkban is találkozunk olyan „kényszerekkel”, amelyek egy–egy életforma felé tolnak bennünket? Milyenek a női életutak a XXI. század elején? International Education Week 2010 - The Reconnect Program Monday - Friday, November 15-19 International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of their efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
The Reconnect program and our guests from West Virginia University
The College Board, through the sponsorship and guidelines of the U.S. State Department, administers the Reconnect program. It gives U.S. campus representatives the chance to visit EducationUSA centers abroad that had sent their own advisers to visit the U.S. in previous years. These reps meet higher education representatives, high school head masters and teachers, hold seminars, or visit study abroad fairs. The main goals of the program are to promote U.S. higher education, foster partnerships, and assist EducationUSA centers.

My Slice of the Big Apple - workshop Tuesday, September 21, 4 p.m. -- American Corner (Mária u. 9.) This hands-on workshop tracks the stages of Agnes Molnar’s application to HAESF, one of Hungary’s most significant grant providing organizations. Agnes is given the privilege to pursue her professional career as a paid intern in New York City at a real estate and development enterprise, Elegran.
Join her and learn best practices from a successful applicant to benefit your own application either to HAESF or other grant organizations.
The American Embassy is soliciting applications for the 2012 Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute. The four-week Institute, which will take place during the month of July, will accommodate about 60 students from Europe and the U.S, aged 16 to 18.
