Summer 2008

The Fourth of July

The American Corner celebrates the 232nd birthday of the United States of America with games and other activities.
Independence Day is one of the most important holidays in the United States: on the 4th of July Americans remember the birth of the United States, the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. We also commemorate this event by fun activities. Join us on between 2-5 pm on Friday afternoon, and enjoy a number of handcrafts activities and games:

  • Prepare a handprint patriotic eagle or a pinwheel
     
  • Paint the flags of the States
  • Do a USA puzzle
  • Answer quiz questions

Admission is free, everyone is welcome!

 


Intense Summer Course
– What has Changed About the Conversation Club?!

For a 5-week period in the summer an experienced language teacher is leading the conversation clubs focusing on specific topics. Starting on the 23rd June, on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, 45-minute sessions help you practice your verbal skills. Participation is of free of charge. Week 1: Introducing Myself – characteristics, personality, hobbies, describing people

Week 2: Education and the Career Ladder

Week 3: Holidays, travel and transportation

Week 4: Going Out – entertainment and cuisine

Viktor Nagy I Am Going to Study in the U.S.

Not only a through a presentation but also during regular "office hours" does Viktor Nagy help high school students find out more about how to win a scholarship to the United States.

Viktor, who is going to study in Massachusets from September 2008,  will talk about the application process, various types of colleges, the do's and dont's, etc.

Viktor is ready to give advice during the Education Advising Office Hours (between June 19 - July 25): Thursdays, 3 pm
